UKCR 2023, Online

UK Creativity Researchers’ Annual Conference, 2023: Online, June 1st 2023.

It was a pleasure to host the UK Creativity Researchers’ Annual Conference 2023 on the theme of Measuring Creativity. The event was free of charge and open to anyone with an interest in creativity research.

Keynote speaker: dr roger beaty

We are delighted to have Roger Beaty Ph.D., Director of the Cognitive Neuroscience of Creativity Lab (CNCL) and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Penn State University (USA) as our keynote speaker. CNCL focuses on using behavioural, neuroimaging, and computational approaches to study the cognitive and neural mechanisms that underlie creativity thinking. Roger’s work explores creativity through a diverse range of fields from musical improvisation to problem solving within scientific research. Additionally, he has developed open access resources to measure creativity using natural language processing and other computational tools. Please see a recording of the Keynote Address below.

Expert Panel

Following Roger’s talk, a panel discussion with experts from academia and industry took place discussing the theme of measuring creativity before a session of poster presentations on the wider theme of creativity in general. Please see recordings of the poster sessions below.
